NSAC Awards Evening Round Up

Another great night for NSAC with over 150 athletes and families attending the ‘Celebration of athletics in North Somerset in 2019’ event at Princes Hall, Clevedon. It was a joy to welcome our chief sponsors, John & Jenny Maycock from Brackenwood.

The event started with a musical and visual look back over the 15 years of NSAC, from humble beginnings, the trials and tribulations, and celebrating friendship, enjoyment, achievement and facility development.

This year saw us re-name the Ambassador of the Year trophy. The Ambassador course was set up in-house for 14-16 year-olds, to give them leadership skills that support NSAC, but will also be relevant in other areas of life. This has been an immensely popular course, and we have been fortunate to see some amazing leaders and future coaches coming through this. We have re-branded this ‘The Maycock Ambassador of the Year Award’, a nod to our amazing sponsors. This year the Award was won by Isabella LT for her weekly enthusiasm and commitment. Watching her charging round with the children, thoroughly embracing the spirit of sessions, but also staying in control of her section of training, is a joy to watch!

A look forward to 2020 has shown that NSAC are looking to give more opportunities for training (14 coaches on coaching courses in January), improvements in standards, the commencement of phase 3 planning at Clevedon School, and our 6th 24-hour WSM Grand Pier Relay. Exciting times!

A raffle followed, with prizes from Brackenwood, Walnut Grove and Waitrose, thank you!
