North Somerset AC Shine at South West Championships with Record Medal Haul
North Somerset AC enjoyed a hugely successful weekend at the two-day South West Championships at Cardiff Met University, bringing home a record-breaking 32 medals, including 13 golds and a new club record.
Day One
The competition got off to a strong start with two gold medals. Toby B triumphed in the U13 boys’ high jump, clearing a huge personal best of 1.40m, while Millie W leapt to victory in the U13 girls’ long jump with a PB of 4.30m.
Day Two
The second day proved to be a standout, with NSAC athletes securing an incredible 11 gold medals.
- Ed S set a new NSAC record in the U15 boys’ pole vault, clearing 2.40m for the win.
- Milo P claimed two golds, sprinting to victory in the U13 boys’ 60m (9.01 secs) and soaring to first in the long jump (4.06m), both personal bests.
- Toby B continued his fantastic weekend, winning the U13 boys’ 60m hurdles with a PB of 11.94 secs, before adding another gold in the 1500m (5:28.93).
- Josh M ran a brilliant new PB of 2:46.42 in the U13 boys’ 800m to take gold.
- Lucy B dominated in the U13 girls’ category, winning the 1500m in 5:40.61 and setting a new PB of 7.04m in the shot put.
- Isabella M stormed to victory in the U13 girls’ 800m with an impressive time of 2:35.22.
- Holly B added to her growing list of achievements, throwing 12.74m to take gold in the U17 women’s shot put.
It was a phenomenal weekend of competition, with outstanding individual and team performances throughout.
