Another successful day at the English Championships at Sheffield.
A long drive was made worthwhile for Rosa Ford, with a bronze medal in the u17 ladies triple jump. A personal best of 11.45m (an increase of 53cm) ranks Rosa number 1 in the Country for a 1st year u17 athlete, and 4th overall. Also an NSAC club record, which is sure to be extended into the summer.
Missing out on a bronze medal by just 37cms, George Leite broke his own NSAC record with a massive 13.68cm put of the 5kg weight. As Rosa, George is ranked number 1 amongst the 1st year u17 athletes, and 4th in the UK overall. More to come, with 14m put a ‘certainty’ in the summer.
Sam Holloway is NSAC’s fastest-ever 800 metre runner, and he beat his previous indoor personal best to finish 5th overall. Having won his heat in 1:58.37 minutes, hopes were high for a finish on the medal rostrum, but not to be this time 2:02.76 minutes.
