A Hot Bristol 10k

Blue skies welcomed the 9,700 plus finishers in this years Bristol 10k, though times were down on last years event as a result of the course being changed.

North Somerset AC’s 10k road specialist James Rodgers clearly enjoyed the conditions and continued his fine run of recent form with one of his best ever results. Great support around the course and a desire to compete with the best saw James record a fantastic 4th place finish in a time of 32:02, just 8 seconds in front of ex-North Somerset AC athlete Josh Dixon, now running for Stroud AC.

Another local athlete ‘Clevedon AC’s Alex Crossland’ also had a superb run to finish an excellent 14th place with a time of 33:21. And just 4 places behind Alex our own Josh Davis finished with a time of 33:52 in 18th place.

Newcomer Bradley Upcott-Fowler has only just returned to training following his time at college and the 22 year old will be well pleased with his time of 36:31 in his first competitive run for over 4 years. Just 4 places and a few seconds behind Brad, 17 year old Joe Gentry had an excellent debut run in this event with a time of 36:38 for a very accomplished 79th place.

16 year old Alys Withers also ran the course in a time of 50:29 and was followed in by club coaches Mel Callas in 51:08 and Della Hudson 58:14.
