NSAC once again travelled in numbers for the 2nd Gwent Cross Country League at Pembrey Park, near Llanelli.
The U11 girls kicked things off with Heidi M having a great run in 10th place and Gabrielle S finishing 61st from a field of well over 100.
U11 boys fielded a bigger squad with Elijah LH leading the team in 17th place. Euan M 36th, Alfie F 57th, William TJ 67th, Somerset H 63rd and Louis C 92nd completed the team scores.
Millie R ran with the front two throughout with a fantastic 3rd place finish in the U13 girls race with good support from Lyla B, Harriet B and Emily F
The U13 boys put on a show of superb team running with the talented Herbie C leading the way for his best ever finish taking 3rd place. Elliot J and Benjamin C had an outstanding battle between them to carry themselves through to 6th and 7th respectively. Bottom year Joel M was another to shine as the teams 4th scorer finishing 16th from a field of over 100. Other U13 boys were Patrick H 20th, Jacob F 28th, Jude W 29th, Joseph S 52nd, Zeki H 61st
Keira D in her first year at U15 once again ran intelligently for a fantastic 7th place, with Olivia M, Mary H, Hannah S and Hanna W completing the team scores.
Will M was a late withdrawal from the U15 boys squad, but the boys raised their game with a solid display of team running. Louie B ran a great race to record his highest 8th place finish to date with Samuel H and Ollie C also recording their highest placements so far in 9th and 12th respectively. Oliver A completes the A team scores with a decent run of his own in 26th. Other U15 boys were Ben M 39th, Stan H 41st, Alex B 45th, Joseph P 62nd, Kyle B 64th.
Holly A led the U17 girls home in 28th with an incredible sprint finish to just hold off her advancing teammate Stephanie B. Victoria P completed the team scores.
The club had 12 runners in the combined U17/20 race with Alfie H looking back to his best after a cruel run of injuries. The U17 athlete looked comfortable throughout and ran a strong last section of a superb cross county course to take 6th overall. U20 Sam G ran well despite recent illness and will be very happy with 9th overall, whilst U17 Benjamin H also ran superbly to finish just one place behind Sam. U20 Will C was feeling under the weather pre-race but ran strongly to finish 29th with U17 Will S close behind in 31st and Max D completing the U17 A team scores for his highest place finish to. Other U17/20 Men’s were Will S 31st, Jamie VDV 45th, Harry S 48th, Callum D 54th, Flynn P 57th, Alistair S 59th, Alex C 62nd
A great day out and the club now look forward to their next Gwent League challenge on 7 December at Blaise Castle in Bristol where big numbers are expected.
