English Schools Championships 2018

The highlight of most young athletes’ fledgling careers is to qualify, and then be selected to represent your County at the prestigious English Schools Championships. This year’s event was held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham and featured five NSAC athletes.

The Junior event (Year 8-9) we were represented by two athletes;
Stephanie B ran a pb of 42.74 secs in the 300m to finish 7th in her heat
Tilly S jumped 4.72m in the long jump to finish 14th in her qualifying pool

Sam G was our sole Year 10-11 representative. He fractionally missed out on the final of the 1500m with a personal best of 4;06.39 minutes, closing in on the sub-4 club!

The Senior event saw two NSAC qualify, and one compete.
Emma B has changed her focus from Combined Events to Triple Jump. Her first major competition saw a 10th place finish in the final with 11.10m

Sadly although Esther L qualified on the pole vault, an injury stopped her from taking her place on the ‘start line’

NSAC very proud of these five, a fantastic achievement
