Another Successful Day at Gwent!

Keira D (pictured left) made it two wins out of two in the 2nd Gwent Cross Country League fixture earlier this month to strengthen her grip on the under 13 girls’ competition.

The North Somerset AC youngster again showed what a talented runner she is by finishing ahead of the strong Welsh challenge from Ceri G (Newport) and Frances M (Carmarthen). Fourth place went to rising star and bottom age Millie R. Their efforts see the U13 girls now sat in 3rd place ahead of arch rivals Westbury Harriers, with Keira topping the leader board and Millie moving up to 4th place after the first two fixtures.

On a good day for the club Sam H had his best result so far in ninth place in the under 13 boys’ race while Alice B-M marked her return to the club after a spell with Bristol & West AC with 17th in the under 15 girls’ age group. All-rounder Steph B was our 2nd girl home in 30th.

In the under 15 boys’ race William S was delighted with his best finish to date in ninth place. With the talented young athlete now committed to regular training, there’s more to come for sure from Will!

In the under 17 men’s race Alfie H (pictured right) led the way in seventh with great support from Ollie L (12th) and Ben H (20th) – all three of them bottom age athletes! With almost a full complement of U17 men running this coming weekend at Parc Bryn Bach, the team are sat nicely in third place overall and well positioned to challenge Westbury Harriers in 2nd just above them
